After "Final Fantasy" creator Hironobu Sakaguchi went on to establish his own company, Mistwalker, he and his team has been rather vague with their upcoming projects. Now, ambitious Japanese videogame company is coming up with something soon next year.
According to recent interview with Japanese game site, 4Gamer (thanks DualShocker's effort in translation), Sakaguchi has big plans to unveil his yet unnamed project next year.
Mistwalker has already been successful with their hit mobile game "Terra Battle" and they're already planning to make a console version of it. Recent reports say that the game's development for the console has been progressing, but the completion is far from over. But what their aforementioned big plan will be is entirely different.
There also have been reports of the company collaborating with "Bravely Default" developer Silicon Studio to work on another project. This will combine the imaginative skills of Mistwalker and the Silicon Studio's technical capability in producing high-quality games.
Interestingly, a teaser image of this project with Silicon Studio can be seen in the download page of "Terra Battle." It's still unknown whether this new, upcoming big announcement for 2017 is the same thing or something else entirely. Even, speculations on whether it shares the same universe with "Terra Battle" have not yet been confirmed.
Regardless of what these projects are, they still don't have a release date or even a title yet. Further details are said to be released "at some point in the future."
Mistwalker has been successful with its android title, "Terra Battle" and has been known to release other good titles like "Blue Dragon" and "Lost Odyssey." Let's also not forget that Square Enix's "Final Fantasy" series creator was all behind the efforts of these games, so we can all that another project of theirs will be worth waiting.
