Jung Joon Young just made the New Year a happy one for his fans as he officially announced his comeback plans this year through a handwritten letter.
According to Soompi, the singer personally posted the letter on his fan café on Sunday, updating his fans of what he has been doing while on hiatus. "This was the first time I've been on a break, and I lost track of time doing all the things I had never had time to do in the past," Jung wrote.
He went on, "I'm writing this to send my New Year's greetings to all of you, as I'm sure you are probably curious [about how I'm doing] and worn out from waiting."
Jung then revealed that he might be able to make a comeback soon after he is done with his newest album, which is currently in the final stages of production. He also asked the fans to be there when he returns to the music industry.
"Please be patient and wait just a little more as I want my first reunion with you to be through my music. Happy New Year," he said.
It can be remembered that Jung was previously mired in controversy when he was accused of sexual harassment in September. The singer even stopped his activities while the legal battle was still ongoing.
However, Jung was cleared of charges pressed by his ex-girlfriend in October. The following month, the singer made his first TV appearance after the controversy on "Laws of the Jungle."
Allkpop reported that there have been speculations that Jung might be returning on "2 Days & 1 Night" soon. The rumors started when the singer was seen in a surprise video for Kim Jong Min where the former said, "I'll see you soon."
On top of that, a PD of the show revealed that they are planning to discuss about Jung's comeback on "2 Days & 1 Night" when the singer returns from France. The staff said the matter has to be talked about by both parties; hence, they are waiting for Jung to return in Korea.
