OnePlus started issuing OxygenOS 4.0 to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones on Saturday.
On November, OnePlus announced the Android Nougat update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. The co-founder of the smartphone brand, Carl Pei verified through Twitter that an established Android Nougat update is organized and will progressively manifest over the air, to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T that same night of Saturday, December 31, Express reported.
"For those who were on previous versions for the OnePlus 3, we appreciate your active feedback and attempts to reach out to us. With your help, we have been able to better optimise and improve several key areas."
However, 'over the air' update means that it is possible that not all OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T owners will get it on the same day. Nevertheless, since the update is coming, every owner of the said units will mostly receive it in a few days, according to Phone Arena.
If the device owner cannot wait for the stable release and knows how to manually install the software update, a beta Nougat build is presently obtainable through OnePlus' official forum. But take note that the specific beta only includes OnePlus 3T and does not include OnePlus 3.
In regards with the OxygenOS 4.0, Phone Scoop reported that it is established on Android 7 Nougat and consists of upgraded notifications and settings menu designs; provide for the multi-window view; advisory direct replies, more choices for the status bar icon and broadened Shelf modification tools.
