Atlanta Hawks considered the option to trade Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver before they become free agent by the end of this season. The Hawks are currently listenig to the trade pitch for the strong power forward, the three-point scorer, and the small forward.
According to ESPN, the Hawks is fielding the trade offer for Millsap and Korver. Sources told ESPN that Atlanta Hawks don’t want to lose Milsap without compensation in the free agency at the end of the season. Therefore, they currrently open for the trade pitch.
Atlanta Hawks did not want to repeat the loss of their key player without proper compensation like they lost Al Horford in the off-season last summer. Millsap, Korver and Sefolosha will become free agent by the end of the season. Millsap was reported to plan on opting-out of his contract for the 2017-18 season, while Korver and Sefolosha have not made any statements.
Korver was a strong force in the Hawks’ back court. However, after a very successful All-Star season in 2014-15, his shooting percentage has dropped for the last two seasons. This season, he slowly returns to his top forms two seasons ago as currently he averages 9.6 points per game, shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from behind the arc.
As for Sefolosha, he gained more playing time this season and improved performance. In his third season with the Hawks, he averages 8.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in 26.1 minutes playing time.
Millsap is a very valuable power forward for the Hawks, according to Bleacher Report, at both end of the courts. He is a good scorer and a strong defender in the paint. He averages 17.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game this season.
He showed his strong performance last Sunday on Jan,1, scoring 32 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 114-112 victory over San Antonio Spurs.
