The upcoming "Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale" will give the loveable characters Lisbeth and Silica more screen time. Series creator Reki Kawahara recently confirmed this in a recent magazine interview.

Kawahara said that some of the girls, including Lisbeth and Silica, will have ample scenes in the movie. They will play important roles in the film, with Silica turning into an "important key character." This is what the creator confirmed in an interview for the second volume of "Sword Art Online" magazine and for the "Dengeki Bungo" publication.

"I even had 120 minutes to work with, so their screen time increased rapidly," Kawahara said as quoted by Crunchyroll.

Kawahara's confirmation simply means that Lisbeth and Silica will have their background story at least fleshed out in "Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale." Likewise, they will enjoy more screen time in the film, much like series mainstays Kirito, Asuna, Sinon and Leafa.

Meanwhile, the official website for "Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale" has released details about the film's plot. According to the site, the story centers around the protagonist's experience playing the popular game "Ordinal Scale" using a new technology called "Augma."

The film reportedly tackles the introduction of this new software, which is designed as a direct competitor for the "NerveGear" and "Amusphere." According to the site, the "Augma" has a design that makes it look like a single on-ear headset with a boom mic extending just under the user's eye. The extension apparently houses a projector system that generates the augmented reality graphics.

Likewise, the "Augma" has unique features. It allows users to play the "Ordinal Scale" while fully awake. Users no longer have to be in a sleep-like state to enjoy the game.

"Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale" comes out in US theaters on March 9,2017. Tickets for the official nationwide release are now available for purchase online. However, tickets for the movie's premiere on March 1 are now sold out.
