Big Hit Entertainment Confims BTS' Upcoming Album, Agency Admits Extensiton To 'Wings'
Just this January, reports have been circulating that BTS is currently preparing for an upcoming release of an extension to their successful "Wings" album. As Soompi stated, this would be released on February of this year, 2017.
Big Hit Entertainment, the agency responsible for BTS, already made some confirmations on different publications regarding the upcoming release and its supposed date. But up until now, the agency also revealed that there is no specific release date yet.
As per speculations, the album would be connected to "Wings" and perhaps would be an extension of it. However, Big Hit Entertainment, proving that all are still in its preparation stage, admitted that there has still no plans for the promotions and everyone are still deciding on it.
BTS Excites Fans During KBS Song Festival, Hints Of Upcoming Album Revealed?
On the other hand, fans' excitement intensified when the boy group performed last Dec. 29 at the KBS Song Festival. BTS gave their all-out as everyone shouted their support to them. Rumors also thought that the group's comeback would be real soon as the "Wings" logo changes into an unfamiliar symbol during the performance. There was also "WINGS" below with the text 'You never walk alone'.
According to Yonhap News, as of this moment, their current album "Wings" already sold 751,000 units, tagging it as the highest selling album in South Korea last 2016. It also became a worldwide success as it form part of the top hits from all over the world: particularly in the Billboard 200 in United States and United Kingdom's Official Albums Chart Top 100. It was also speculated that other entertainment agencies have been checking on BTS as its upcoming album continue to surface online, even some Korean artists are on the verge of deciding to distant their album release from the boyband's album time frame.
