Jungkook gave his fans a sneak peek of his newest cover on Thursday through a Twitter post, and to everyone's surprise, the BTS member was acknowledged not only by his fans but also by the original artist of the song.
According to Soompi, Jungkook used the official Twitter account of BTS to upload a teaser for his cover of "We Don't Talk Anymore" by American artist Charlie Puth featuring Selena Gomez.
The Twitter post has been liked over 200,000 times and one of those came from Charlie Puth. Aside from that, the "See You Again" singer also followed the account of BTS, and in return, the boy group also followed the American singer.
Many fans were thrilled upon hearing Jungkook's new cover and were even more thrilled when the idol was noticed by Charlie Puth. Some of them are even speculating that the two might be planning for a collaboration.
The BTS member has been commended for his song covers. Previously, Jungkook made a cover of Justin Bieber's "Nothing Like Us" and "Purpose." The latter was reportedly dedicated to his fans on his birthday.
"A birthday present that I'm giving. I recorded it too quickly because I didn't have time! Still, please enjoy listening," Jungkook said.
Aside from that, fans fell in love with Jungkook's own version of "Paper Hearts" by Tori Kelly. Allkpop reported the BTS member uploaded the cover on Christmas day. Netizens praised Jungkook for his warm voice and commendable English in the cover song.
"I listened the original one long time ago because Jungkook says it is one of the songs he listens to, but it's not my type. But listening to his cover is so way different! How can he change the songs feelings so great," a fan wrote.
Watch out for Jungkook's full cover of "We Don't Talk Anymore," but for the mean time, here's a sneak peek!
