For first-time users, using Snapchat can be confusing. To remedy the problem, the app's parent company, Snap Inc. has decided to release an update that will make everything much easier for users. How? By adding a new search bar.
Snapchat made easier to use
Thanks to the upcoming search bar, Snapchat is expected to be much easier to use in the coming future. It has been some time now that the popular app has been criticized for being confusing. With the addition of the new search feature, the messaging app will make it easier to find content and message friends. As Time reported, a limited number of Android users are already enjoying the new search bar. But the rest of Android and iPhone users should not worry. Snap Inc. is planning to roll out the update on a much larger scale in just a few days time.
Using the new Snapchat search app
According to PC World, the search bar will be pinned on top of the Snapchat app. This way, the app will also be more efficient when it comes to switching between chat threads, Stories, camera and still search. Users can also use a slew of different shortcuts by simply tapping the bar like quickly jumping on chat, bringing a new chat window or turning up a person's profile. There will also be a universal search bar to help users find specific people or Discover channels or simply jump into message threads that are ongoing.
Aside from these changes, Snapchat users will also enjoy a profile shortcut in the form of a visible icon in the top left corner of their phones. Snap Inc. will also remove the limitation for specific events so users can submit any story they want to the Our Story channel.
A better Snapchat experience
Even with the update, the new additions to the Snapchat app all look minor at the moment. Still, the changes will make a lot of difference for users especially now that Snapchat will be much easier to use and access along with other applications provided by the app. Basically, the main goal of the update is to make the app less confusing and more appealing especially with its anticipated public release this coming March.
