The big issue surrounding the Selena Gomez and The Weeknd dating rumors is the fact that the former is friends with the "Starboy" singer's ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid. Selena is also pals with Bella's sister Gigi Hadid. Both Selena and Gigi are members of Taylor Swift's popular squad.
Although Bella kept quiet about the issue, it is presumed that she isn't quite thrilled by the reports. According to E! News, Bella unfollowed Selena on Instagram. A source also said that the Victoria's Secret model is "actually not over The Weeknd" and that "she still loves him."
"They are on fine terms, but she is bitter about the romance with Selena," the source added. "She was not happy when all of that gossip went everywhere between The Weeknd and Selena."
Bella Hadid and The Weeknd broke up in November 2016. The reason for the split was not revealed at the time.
Another source told E! News that The Weeknd has always had a thing for Selena and some of his lyrics are even about the "Hands to Myself" singer. The source revealed that The Weeknd finds Selena "extremely talented and sexy." As to their relationship, it is said that Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are "taking things slow and getting to know each other."
