The 24-year-old "Hands To Myself" singer, Selena Gomez, is currently under rehab in Nashville, Tennessee due to health conditions and its side effects. Ever since she stepped into the facility last September, her pop star best friend, Taylor Swift, has not been seen to pay a visit.
Three years ago, the superstar was diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease called lupus, which causes fatigue, skin rashes, damage to joints and even to the heart. It was only in 2015 when she opened up about it, silencing rumors about drug addiction. "I was diagnosed with lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was really about.", Selena told Billboard magazine.
Sources say that Selena's conscious effort to stay behind the spotlight gives her a better perspective about life and security of her future. As she shared with People magazine, the side effects of the illness, such as panic attacks and depression, can affect people in many different ways, rather disclosing how these are having an effect on her. She says she wants to focus on maintaining her health and happiness through taking this time off the limelight.
The singer actress reportedly has been receiving visits from some friends in the industry - Jennifer Anniston and Ed Sheeran, to name a few. However, long-time best friend, Taylor Swift, has not visited Selena, yet. Although early in September, Swift promised her BFF a girls' weekend when she gets better according to a source, her presence in this time of Selena's passing would have seemed likely and beneficial.
While Selena is in rehab, Swift was known to have celebrated the Halloween with the likes of Lily Donaldson, Gigi Hadid, and Camila Cabello. It has been reported that there are speculations stirring the media about Swift trying to lay away from Selena due to the drug allegations, which might damage her career and reputation. Swift has been observed to grow closer to Cara Delevingne and Blake Lively lately, giving rise to rumors about an impaired friendship with Selena.
