It was last April 2016 when the LG G5 was released to the public. Now that the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event is closing in, reports suggest that the Korean multinational electronics company is aiming to release LG G6 sooner than expected.
According to GSM Arena, rumors are circulating regarding the big possibility that LG electronics wants to out-run its competitor, Samsung, which is also a huge Korean electronics company.
It is said that after launching the LG G6 at the MCW 2017 event in Barcelona on the last week of February this year, LG might then release the G6 on March 10, 2017, which is only two weeks after the event.
The same report also said that LG's suspected move of releasing its LG G6 this March might be because it targets the back-to-school sales. The same publication cited the delay of Samsung's S8 due to unconfirmed issues; however, rumors are loud that the reason behind the delay was because of a hardware design problem. With this, sources said that this would enable LG to benefit from Samsung S8's delay.
On the other hand, although LG has still not confirmed the specifications of the LG G6, it is said that the device might be a 5.7" QHD display smartphone with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and would run on a Snapdragon 835 processor, Tech Radar reported.
The same publication also cited the rumors that LG's upcoming flagship would have 4GB of RAM, a dual-lens camera, a removable battery, and a fast wireless charging option. Furthermore, it is said that LG G6 will not ditch the headphone port feature like what Appple did in its iPhone 7. A finger print scanner is also rumored to be included in the upcoming smartphone flagship of LG.
In regards to the price of the LG G6, it is said that the device would cost at around $500-$600, but prices will differ depending on the internal storage capacity of the device.
