LeBron James and Nike are going through their library of signature shoes and decided to rerelease an iconic design special to the player. The AZG or Air Zoom Generation is going back to the store shelves soon with a special commemorative design that calls out to the past of LeBron James on his first regular season game.

Announcement and Design Updates

LeBron James recently got the attention of sneaker community a few days ago as he personally announced that his first signature shoes will once again grace the store shelves. The Air Zoom Generation is going to be rereleased by Nike and the King himself highlighted the "First Games" colorway - a tribute to his first game as a Cavalier where he wore the striking red uniform against Denver Nuggets.

According to Uproxx, the shoes' look on the outside doesn't change with some subtle changes since retro-shoes will be for nothing without a nod in the past. Inside, the shoes are engraved with "11-5-2003" and "Lick My Soles." The date indicates his first regular season game with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nike has also released images of the upcoming shoes featuring the familiar white and red color with black accents.

Retro Design with Updated Price

According to Sneaker News, the retro-design shoes of LeBron James are going to be available on Jan 25 this year. Unfortunately, the retro signature shoes do not come with its original price. When released, LeBron's Air Zoom Generation retailed at $110 but the 2017 version will retail at $175.

Sneaker News also noted that the original kicks of LeBron James were not really popular compared to the current sneaker line. However, King James already went through a lot since his first game with the Cavs and the callout to the past will definitely become one of the biggest selling points of the shoes.
