The Walking Dead series based on the comic book of the same name created by Robert Kirkman has been a huge success. Now it seems that the American comic book writer is not stopping there as recent reports are saying that Kirkman will be launching a new apocalypse series to Latin America.

According to a publication on Comic Book, the 38 year old award winning comic book writer is planning to launch the "Five Year" series which is also an apocalypse type of concept. It was said that the series will revolve around a family after knowing that the human kind only has 5 years to live due to an impending meteor strike. The same publication cited that the story is not like other end of the world stories where people are trying to save the world, because the "Five Year" series allows the viewers to see how people live with a given time frame. The series is said to have 16 episodes. It was also confirmed that Kirkman is going to partner with Dave Alpert of Skybound Entertainment.

On the other note, a report on iDigital Times cited the pre-sale estimate of 'The Walking Dead' issue #163 which is a whopping 730,000 copies are going to be sold. However, neither Kirkman nor Image Comics will generate an earning from it. It was said that Kirkman and Image Comics priced the issue for only 25 cents. The publication noted that they know they would not earn from it, and that Kirkman and Image Comics only wants to give back to the fans. Kirkman said in an interview that they are not looking to earn this time but would only want to get the long term benefits of doing it by acquiring more readers. It was also said that pricing the issue for only 25 cents is a way to honor the 25th anniversary of Image Comics.

Meanwhile, in regards to the release date of 'Five Years' in Latin America, Kirkman and Dave Alpert of Skybound Entertainment has not yet announced a premiere date.
