"Injustice 2" is going to be heading its way to gamers' shelves soon this year, but before that happens, a lot of reveals will be coming up next week for the game. There is one particular reveal, however, made by PlayStation Store that a new character will appear as a pre-order bonus.
According to Attack of the Fanboy, the PlayStation Store has been known to have a leak or two about certain games, this time we'll be having something on "Injustice 2." The leak showed the game's description along pre-order bonuses and listed two items.
Thanks to the image made by a member on NeoGAF, the leak showed first showed a simple "Injustice 2" Pre-Order Theme, but what's more interesting is that it revealed the new character that could possibly join the roster of heroes and villains - Darkseid.
Just for a quick FYI here, fans would know Darkseid as an intergalactic god-like being who threatens the universe into subjugation. The villain has immense power and is known to be an enemy to most DC heroes, especially Superman. To have him in the upcoming "Injustice" sequel would be a blast if it is confirmed to be true.
However, we shouldn't put our hopes up since the listing in PlayStation Store - the screen-captured leak that was based on - has been subsequently removed, with it returning again but without the Darkseid's name.
This isn't the first time NetherRealms Studios has done something like, especially in regards to a notable character in a franchise being a pre-order bonus. Such was the case with "Mortal Kombat X" for Goro being a DLC bonus. However, fans were a bit disappointed with this treatment and it might go the same with Darkseid in "Injustice 2".
However, it didn't have to be that way with "Mortal Kombat X" as Goro ended up being purchasable by later on, which might be said also for Darkseid.
However, this still hasn't confirmed whether NetherRealms will still push through with Darkseid as a playable pre-order bonus due to the listing being taken down or not. It is also highly possible that a more official announcement would follow soon.
"Injustice 2" will be released on May 16, 2017.
