The Moto 360 (2015 version) will no longer be available on Google's online store may be because the latter wants to make space for the new smart watches that it is making with LG. Of late, Google has removed various smart watches from its online store. Moto 360, the second generation smart watch by Motorola is the latest addition to this list.
Some time ago, Google also removed Fossil's smart watch from the display on its online store. Even though other portals continue to sell these smart watches, users will no longer see it on the Google store. Google appears to be consciously getting rid of the non-performing smart watches prior to the launch of the new models that it has developed in collaboration with LG.
Even though users had complaints, the original Moto 360 was very well received at the time of its launch. The revamped version of the Moto 360 smart watch was introduced in 2015. This model was said to be an improvement over its predecessor, the original Moto 360 and was developed after taking into consideration the complaints of the users. However, the 300 USD price tag associated to this new model ended up being a deterrent for prospective buyers.
The high price is what redirected many of the Moto fans towards more affordably priced options, Uber Gizmo reported. Another reason that could have led to the gradual downfall of Moto 360 is the fact that Motorola has shown little determination to make more smart watches.
With the brand being skeptical about its decision to continue in the smart watch segment, Google's decision to remove its products may not be such a shocker.
Ever since its release, the Moto 360 model was a mainstay of the Google online store, Phandroid reported. However, starting today, the smart watch will cease to be a part of this store. Along with LG's G watch, Moto 360 was among the first two android based smart watches introduced in the world.
Previously, Google also removed the Moto 360 sport from the collection being displayed on its online store.
