The promo trailer for the midseason of "Lucifer" Season 2 may have subtly hinted at Chloe's tragic fate. The video shows the detective with a heavy nosebleed, which could be a result of the poison in her body.
The teaser for "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 11 shows Chloe Decker (Lauren German) complaining about a nosebleed. She tells Lucifer the blood does not seem to stop falling. This scene never made it to the midseason premiere, since it could come out in the finale.
According to the synopsis of "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 13 from Spoilers Guide, the finale puts Chloe in a vulnerable situation. Apparently, the detective is dying after she accidentally inhaled poison. Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) must act fast or else Chloe dies. In this episode, titled "A Good Day to Die," Lucifer travels back to Hell to retrieve the antidote from the professor responsible for making the poison.
Meanwhile, consequences that led to Chloe's encounter with the poison could happen in "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 12, "Love Handles." According to the publication, the detective and Lucifer investigate a masked killer who has been poisoning college students.
The identity of this professor and the masked killer remains unknown. However, they could be the same person. The killer first appeared at the end of "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 11, "Stewardess Interruptus." He approached a man who died after he inhaled what he thought was cocaine stored in a vial.
It is also interesting to point out that this masked killer could be Tim DeKay's character in "Lucifer" Season 2. According to TV Line, he plays Dr. Jacob Carlisle. He is a successful neurosurgeon, whose encounter with Lucifer reportedly leads to deadly consequences to someone the devil cares about. Clearly, this special person is no other than Chloe and the deadly ramifications could pertain to her being on the brink of death.
