Although "Rick and Morty" fans were anticipating on the January release of Season 3, they were disappointed that there were delays. Despite that, there are more speculations that the release date might be moved to sometime in March, along with a crossover with another unlikely franchise.
In spite of their disappointments, fans are still looking forward to "Rick and Morty" Season 3 nonetheless, especially the fact the production is in full swing, according to Tripped Media. With the sneak peeks Adult Swim has been showing, fans are giddy with excitement and anticipation as they are given a taste of what's to come in the third season. This gives executive producers and creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland a whole challenge as they attempt to make Season 3 as good as the first two seasons - or probably even surpass the two.
Harmon, however, admitted that the production of Season 3 might be more difficult to produce due to the pressure that comes from the success of Season 1 and 2. They want something that would let viewers ask for more, the same insatiable feeling they had for Seasons 1 and 2.
Additionally, Harmon has also been hands-on with the project as we speak, along with Roiland and the production team, finalizing the script for Season 3. The animation sequence takes a lot of work which is probably the reason for the delay. Who knows what crazy shenanigans could lay ahead for the Smith family? How would Rick break out of prison?
In other news, speculations mentioned that due to the friendship between Roiland and Alex Hirsch, the creator of "Gravity Falls," there might be a crossover between the two shows, according to Movie Pilot. Roiland did participate in the Disney Channel exclusive animated show as the recurring character Blendin Blandin. Both Hirsch and Roiland admitted to hinting Easter Eggs in each other's shows.
Another hint comes from Redditor named "TheRealDyson," from whom a fan theory was formed claiming that the possibility of a crossover between "Rick and Morty" and "Gravity Falls" is huge due to inter-dimensional travelling. While this may be exciting for the majority of the fanbase, others would find quite "interesting" since "Rick and Morty" is known for its adult themes and humor, while "Gravity Falls" has its child-friendly tone.
In the meantime, here's a demonstration of what could expect in the crazy adventures of "Rick and Morty" Season 3:
