2NE1 might have disbanded but the girl group will leave something that fans can still cherish. One of the members, CL wrote the lyrics of the group's farewell song, "Goodbye" which is actually intended for Minzy.
2NE1 is singing their last song for the fans titled "Goodbye" written by CL. She said on January 21 that while writing the song, she was thinking of Minzy and their fans, the Blackjacks. She revealed that the song resembles a letter to Minzy who left the group in April to have her own career as a solo artist.
"After Minzy left YG, we prepared an album for the three of us. At that time, I felt like I was writing the song as a letter to Minzy. I edited the lyrics so that they could be directed to both Minzy and our fans," as quoted by Koreaboo.
CL disclosed in a special interview that she is confident that the members of the group will come together again in 20 years or so. She also jested that she will put emphasis on getting stronger so they can present again "Fire" once they reunite.
Meanwhile, ex-2NE1 member Minzy stated her disappointment through her Instagram account on Thursday (January 19) about the group's parting song. Even though she is included in the official promotional picture for the group's last song "Goodbye", she has no idea that the rest of the group are going to release a new recording without her, according to the Billboard report.
Minzy stated that it is embarrassing to discover that 2NE1 is set to a launch a final album by way of a news article. She is not happy of not being included to think that she was a former member of the group. She was the youngest member who left the group last April just in time her contract with YG Entertainment has expired.
From 2009, the year that they began, up to November 2016, the year they disbanded, 2NE1 is considerably among the most famous girl group in South Korea.
