It is confirmed that the X-Men TV show is airing. It was verified that a preliminary broadcast was already ordered for the series which will center on juvenile mutants who will go into hiding along with their parents from government agents.
The show has been progressive for quite some time now and the head writer Matt Nix has revealed about his plans for the "X-Men" TV show over the past few weeks. Fox in collaboration with Marvel TV formally moves forward with the initial broadcast.
During the latest winter press tour of the Television Critics Association, Nix conveyed that the new series will be directly associated with the "X-Men" movie universe.
According to him, "A fan of the movies but also the comics would not be disoriented at all as to where this fits in the mythology. If you look at the movies, which take place from--they started in 2003 to now--they don't all line up perfectly. I'm not slavishly fitting them into a particular slot," as quoted by GameSpot.
He also added that fans can anticipate seeing familiar characters in the new TV show. One of the "X-Men" characters that will be seen is the Sentinels. However, according to the "X-Men" franchise producer, Lauren Shuler Donner, the new Sentinels will not be giant robots as what fans used to be familiar with.
Comicbook/Marvel reported that the new "X-Men" TV show project replaced "Hellfire" which is also a television show that focuses on the nefarious Hellfire Club. "Hellfire" was revealed together with "Legion" but fell behind in production. Fox and Marvel disregarded "Hellfire" because the project is more of a movie to make a TV spinoff.
Nix's "X-Men" TV series will be much more drawn to the "X-Men" mythology compared to Legion which depended on David Haller's character as a beginning point to helm its own world and supporting characters.
