Many excellent players from the Western Conference will become free agent players this season. Some of the players in the Western Conference may need to go East to make competition in the Eastern Conference become more attractive. Therefore team beside Cavaliers, Raptors, Celtics and Hawks may have the chance to elevate their game.
Here are Top 5 free agent players which will available in the February trade deadline that will bring a little more competition to the Eastern Conference:
1- Gordon Hayward. Status: Player Option, current team: Utah Jazz.
He is one of the best wingman and according to Salt Lake Tribune, he deserves a spot in All-Star. He will be needed by Eastern conference teams that has a strong front court such as Philadelphia 76ers or Indiana Pacers.
2- Chris Paul. Status: Player Options. Current team: Los Angeles Clippers.
One of the most efficient point guard in the league. He will be suitable to the team that struggle to make the play such as Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons or Milwaukee Bucks.
3- Andre Iguodala. Status: Unrestricted, current team: Golden State Warriors
He is one of the most efficient defensive player in the perimeter. Iguodala will be suitable for New York Knicks that struggled with their defense. However, the Warriors may still need his service and the Knicks must have something better to offer the Warriors.
4- Blake Griffin. Status: Player Options. Current team: Los Angeles Clippers.
The strong man in the paint who is able to attack the rim with unselfish attitude. He may be a good partner for Whiteside in Miami Heat to strengthen their front court and delivering brilliant pass from Goran Dragic to the rim.
5- Jrue Holiday. Status: Unrestricted. Current team: New Orleans Pelicans.
The 6’4” point guard is a good scorer and a point guard which tend to shoot rather than pass the ball. His 14.1 scoring average for eight seasons in the NBA may be valuable to teams that need a scorer from the back court such as Orlando Magic or Detroit Pistons.
