"Saala Khadoos" star R. Madhavan must be on cloud nine, as his latest sports movie has recently received an applause from none other than the world-renowned boxing champion Mike Tyson.
The 49-year-old former world heavyweight champion took to Facebook to express his eagerness to watch the recently-released Indian movie.
"I'd like to see this boxing film," wrote Tyson, along with sharing a news article of the film.
The movie is directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad and backed by National award winning filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The lead role of a seemingly unsuccessful boxing coach, who himself is looking for redemption, is played by Madhavan and her protégé is played by debutante actress Ritika Singh.
The movie is the story of an aggressive boxing coach who finds a talent in a fisherwoman, and pushes her to become a successful boxer. It is also made in Tamil titled "Irudhi Suttru."
It is a lesser known fact that the newbie actress, who is just 22 years-old, is actually a real life professional kick boxer, The Hindu reported. The movie also stars Monica Sarar, apart from 35 other women boxers.
Meanwhile, Madhavan has acknowledged the interest showed by Tyson in his movie by thanking the boxing star on Twitter.

The actor is reportedly making arrangements to send the boxer a DVD of the film, through his own agent in the U.S. very soon.
The director also expressed the happiness over Tyson's words by saying that she has drawn inspiration from his life for the movie.
"Tyson had once said 'The day I listened to my coach I won. And the day I didn't, I lost.' That is the crux of my film which is about the relationship between a coach and an unruly boxer. So the fact that Tyson now wants to see it, is just incredible," NDTV Movies quoted Prasad as saying.
Meanwhile, it was Indian boxer and former World Cup bronze medallist Devarajan Venkatesan's Facebook post that said to have drawn Tyson's attention to the movie.
