"The Flash" movie is slowly becoming an unstable title in the DC Extended Universe. Even though it's still in the early stages of its pre-production, two directors already tapped out of the movie. Now, it is reported that "The Flash" movie script is getting a major rewrite.

Variety reports that Warner Bros. is handing over "The Flash" script to Joby Harold, who wrote "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" for Warner Bros. and "Robin Hood" for Lionsgate. Harold has been commissioned to do a page-one rewrite, which basically means a potential overhaul of the original script. Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa, both of whom were previously attached to director "The Flash," also contributed to previous drafts of the script.

For now, "The Flash" is still without a director and is taking time to find a suitable replacement for Famuyiwa. According to Empire, Famuyiwa left the project due to creative differences with executive producers. It was said that Famuyiwa's version of the story was edgier compared to what the executives had in mind.

"I pitched a version of the film in line with my voice, humor, and heart. While it's disappointing that we couldn't come together creatively on the project, I remain grateful for the opportunity," Famuyiwa said in a statement shortly after his departure. Grahame-Smith also exited "The Flash" due to creative differences with the movie execs.

The only thing that's been consistent with "The Flash" so far is its lead star Ezra Miller, who is still very much attached to the titular role. He's slated to reprise his role as Barry Allen/The Flash in the upcoming "Justice League" movie. Keirsey Clemons has been cast to play Iris West, while Billy Crudup is playing Barry Allen's dad. Miller first appeared as the Scarlet Speedster in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
