Nintendo is pushing hard its latest console before it launches this March. Their upcoming commercial for Super Bowl LI features their best games and some surprising additions that will prove Nintendo still has something to offer to old-school gamers.

Set for Super Bowl LI

Super Bowl LI is just a few days away and as expected, the big names are using the event to produce commercials guaranteed to be seen by millions nationwide. Nintendo is joining the fray and they recently released the extended version of the commercial for game day.

According to Gamespot, the commercial focuses on the unique hybrid system of the game. Of course, popular titles such as "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is greatly featured. Other games such as "Just Dance 2017" and multiplayer "Splatoon" were also featured. 1-2 Switch mini-games were also on full display.

Old School Meets New Hardware

Old school gamers also have something to look forward to based on the released commercial. One of the many games featured in the commercial is "Street Fighter" and it's not the latest version. Ryu and Chun-Li fight in the classic stadium and their moves indicate that it's a game from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

This confirms the news by Polygon that the Japanese gaming giant will indeed offer a free playable classic game everyone month. The game could come from the classic NES or the SNES which means "Street Fighter" could land in Switch consoles soon.

It's also interesting to note that both players in the commercial are playing the same game. Could it be that the classic "Street Fighter" is now playable online against another player? Nintendo did not set any specifics on multiplayer classic games but old school gamers will greatly enjoy this feature.

Nintendo Switch lands on select countries on March 3. Watch the extended trailer below:
