South Korean rapper and television personality Gary revealed in an interview with China's Sina News that he had been dealing with uncertainties after leaving the popular variety show “Running Man”.
"'Running Man' was my first variety show. After leaving 'Running Man', a lot of concerns ran through my mind. I was worried that people will perceive me negatively,” Gary told the news agency as quoted by All KPop.
He further said: “However, I'm thankful that many waited for my music and gave me encouragement. I'll work hard to make music so I can communicate (with my fans)".
The 38-year-old star joined “Running Man” alongside the original members Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Lee Kwang Soo and Song Joong Ki in 2010. In October last year, it was revealed by the show producers that Gary will be saying goodbye to the program to focus on his career as a musician.
Gary has recently posed for the Chinese fashion magazine “Yoho! Girl”. In the shots released by the publication, the artist carried out his gentleman looks and appeared cool yet dapper in his classic outfits on.
Born as Kang Hee Gun, Gary began his career in the entertainment industry after joining the hip-hop group X-Teen in 1997. After 17 years, the star released his controversial album “Mr. Gae” which has been banned in three of Korea’s major TV networks due to its explicit lyrics and sexually provocative contents.
Meanwhile, KPop group Red Velvet has recently appeared on the Feb. 12 installment of “Running Man”, Soompi reported. During the show, the program hosts were entertained by four of the band members namely Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Yeri as they were doing their mission of lying down in a sauna.
