More than a decade after her acting debut, Song Ji Hyo still feels uncomfortable to be called as an actress. In fact, the "Running Man" host admitted, in a recent interview, that she is embarrassed of the title.
"If I act like an actress and if people treat me like one, I feel like my hands and feet are going to disappear from embarrassment," she said as per Allkpop.
The 35-year-old celebrity added, "I'm still burdened by the title of "actor." I want to become an actor who acts sincerely and enjoys her job."
Before she debuted as an actress, Song Ji Hyo started out as a model of "Kiki" magazine in 2001. The "Running Man" host admitted her stage name was inspired by Korean stars Song Hye Kyo and Song Seung Heon.
For her acting career, Song Ji Hyo appeared in music videos and made cameo appearances before she was given her first acting project. The model-turned-actress was first featured in a 2003 film, titled "Wishing Stairs."
She had her breakthrough as an actress after playing as a ballet dancer in Princess Hours" back in 2006. In the same year, Song Ji Hyo was casted for historical drama "Jumong."
After showing her acting prowess in films and dramas, Song Ji Hyo pursued hosting with "Running Man" with the recommendation of PD Kim Joo Hyung. Aside from that the popular variety show, the host also appears on her own program "Song Ji Hyo's Beauty View."
Contrary to her boyish aura on "Running Man," Song Ji Hyo is more girly on the JTBC program. According to Soompi, "Song Ji Hyo's Beauty View" provides beauty tips to women who are fond of styling.
The "Running Man" host admitted she never expected to have her own beauty program. However, Song Ji Hyo is hopeful that her newest show will inspire others to bring out their interest in makeup.
