Lindsay is not just the first African American to lead this hit reality show in "The Bachelorette" arena but in "The Bachelor" category as well, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Lindsay has indeed broken the barriers.
Lindsay is a contestant in Nick Viall's season. Lindsay has received the first impression rose in her season, according to Glamour Celebs, a first then again for a black American. Viall's "Bachelor" season is still running and Lindsay is still in the top final four of the show.
Now, the secret is out. This is such as spoiler as viewers still did not know if Lindsay would actually win the show. Chris Harrison explained that because of the weird calendar stuff, they have to announce it earlier. In Viall's case with "The Bachelor", it is different because the calendar schedule for "The Bachelor" is different compared to "The Bachelorette". "The Bachelorette" just runs after "The Bachelor".
ABC has wanted to announce that Viall was "The Bachelor" as they want girls who wanted to be with him to be cast early on. It is just the same case with Lindsay. ABC has got to announce the new "Bachelorette" because they want to cast early and the time is running out. It is unlike the previous seasons.
For JoJo Fletcher's case, the former "Bachelorette", hers was announced after the Final Rose ceremony of Ben Higgins. Fans have even thought that Caila Quinn would be the chosen one as lots of camera sightings with Quinn have been caught in her hometown. Fletcher however in the end got "The Bachelorette" crown. It is because during in the end, during the final two of Higgins' season, fans were captivated with the story of Fletcher.
Back to the new "Bachelorette" Lindsay, who is she? Lindsay is a 31-year old lawyer.
"The Bachelorette" and "The Bachelor" shows have been criticized because of their lack of diversity. In the Jimmy Kimmel show, after more than 30 seasons, the casting of the new black "Bachelorette" was revealed by Harrison.
