A couple of days ago, desktop gamers have started to complain about not being able to play "Resident Evil 5" on the Steam platform. After exhaustive investigation on the matter, it appears that the problem stems from missing game keys.
The problem was widely discussed over at Reddit where one user cited the error message which reads, "#SteamUI_JoinDialog_KeyRequestFailed_Text." Some gamers have reported that the game was able to run for a couple of hours, and then when they restarted it, they received the same error message. The inconvenience reached its peak when gamers started to discuss the problem over several websites and social media platforms.
Early investigation on the matter suggest that the problem may have been on Steam or Capcom's side. Capcom is the publisher of "Resident Evil 5." Both Steam and Capcom has yet to comment about the issue.
Despite several complaints from gamers, Capcom did not respond either on the community forum or through its customer support. Something that might have compounded the frustrations of many gamers. On the other hand, during the outage, Capcom told Eurogamer that the company is already looking into the issue and is preparing a fix.
Several hours after the issue was first reported, gamers started sharing on various social media platforms that he problem has been fixed. The Reddit thread where the problem was first reported was updated and shows that the issue has been resolved.
Whatever the problem behind that outage is still a mystery since both Steam and Capcom have yet to comment about it. Nevertheless, the issue has been fixed and addressed in a timely manner.
"Resident Evil 5" was released in 2009. The game is part of the well-love horror-shooter franchise. Unlike its predecessors which focus on single-player campaign, "Resident Evil 5" followed a different path and focused heavily on co-op mode, a decision that has been widely criticized by the gaming community.
