Anders Holm and Mindy Kaling will reunite in an upcoming comedy series produced by NBC.
According to Variety, the "Workaholics" star has landed the lead role on the project co-created by Kaling and Charlie Grandy. With a title yet to be determined, the comedy series centers on Vince (Holm), a charismatic gym owner with no ambition who lives with his younger brother Michael, a gorgeous idiot. Their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when Vince's teenage son is dropped on their doorstep by Priya (Kaling), one of his old high school flings.
Following Holm's casting, Deadline has learned that Andy Favreau has been cast to play the role of Michael. Favreau currently stars on FOX's freshman comedy, "The Mick."
The untitled comedy series marks as a reunion project for Holm and Kaling after playing each other's love interest on "The Mindy Project." Holm's other acting credits include "The Intern" where he starred opposite Anne Hathaway and "How To Be Single" alongside Alison Brie.
The show joins other pilot comedies ordered by NBC this year including "Relatively Happy" and "The Sackett Sisters."
Originally developed at CBS, "Relatively Happy" follows an adult brother and sister who wind up living together for the first time since they were kids, after one of them suffers a big loss. They become each other's wingmen, shoulder to cry on, best friend and punching bag as they navigate love, loss and work while helping to get each other "un-stuck."
"The Sackett Sisters," meanwhile, is about two estranged sisters who perform a Sully Sullenberger-esque act of public heroism, then are forced to navigate their newfound notoriety together. Tina Fey is attached as executive producer for this project alongside Luke Del Tredici, Robert Carlock and David Miner.
Casting information for the aforementioned pilots are expected to be announced on a later date.
