Before he debuted with BTS, Jungkook auditioned for "Superstar K3," where he charmed several record labels with his talent and looks. In fact, the idol has received offers from these agencies shortly after trying his luck on the music program.
According to Allkpop, Jungkook was wooed by seven agencies after they heard of his audition on "Superstar K3." However, the BTS member had his own reason for choosing Big Hit Entertainment at that time.
"I came because Rap Monster hyung (brother) was so cool," Jungkook said on "Shin Yang Nam Show."
Meanwhile, his co-members are just thankful that Jungkook has decided to join them in Big Hit Entertainment. "The companies that made offers to Jungkook were bigger than ours," they said.
The BTS members continued, "It's really a divine deciding moment and a gift from God that Jungkook came here (to Big Hit Entertainment)."
Founded in 2005, Big Hit Entertainment houses the following artists: Glam, Jo Kwon, Jung Jinwoon, Changmin and others. The record label hit the jackpot after forming BTS in 2013.
For their official debut, the seven-member boy group dropped "2 Cool 4 Skool" with title track "No More Dream" on June 13, 2013. Their first album has given them several Best New Artists awards from major music awarding events.
Aside from their popularity in Korea and its neighboring countries, BTS has brought the K-Pop wave even in the United States. Soompi cited members of the band personally shared their own experience of being recognized by foreign fans.
"I recently went to the jungle [for a variety program]. We took a boat to the filming location and fans rented boats to follow us to the shoot. That's when I realized how popular BTS is abroad," Jin shared.
Jang Do Yeon, on the other hand, has realized their popularity after he encountered Japanese fans in the street of Korea.
