Comedian Louis C.K. is about to release his 2 comedy specials on Netflix starting on April 4. It is an exclusive deal with Netflix and fans are in it for a treat.
In an article published by Variety, this is not the first time that Louis C.K. have his work on a streaming service. His stand-up special "Live from the Beacon Theater" back in 2011 was first streamed on his website. Fans had to pay $5 to watch his show online and it was successful enough that he landed a deal with Netflix for a couple of new projects.
He also has other streamed shows on Netflix but his new project with the streaming service will be its first to be considered as a Netflix original. The comedian filmed his first stand-up special for this project in Washington, D.C. and named it "2017." He also has a new comedy series that was first distributed on louisck.net but later on picked up by Hulu.
The chief content officer at Netflix, Ted Sarandos, only have great words to say about Louis C.K. He always thought he is talented and very innovative when it comes to his genre of art. He also added that he thinks the comedian is such a thought leader in the area of business and comedy.
The streaming service couldn't be more excited to make him a part of their family because of his creativity and his marketability in reaching out to a broad audience. Netflix is also now known for paying a lot of money for comedians in gaining their syndicated rights. Chris Rock also got a deal with them worth $40 million for his upcoming specials.
Collider added that Louis C.K. is officially in the mix along with those high profile comedy acts that have shaped the world of the stand-up comedy industry. Catch his work on Netflix starting April 4.
