Another DC villain is headed to Central City on "The Flash" Season 3.
The CW series has tapped "Gotham" actor David Dastmalchian to play the character of Abra Kadabra in an upcoming episode slated to air later this season. The casting news was announced by DC Comics on Monday.
Per the character's official description, Abra Kadabra is "a criminal from a distant future whose advanced technological powers seem like magic. The time traveling villain also "holds a secret the Flash will stop at nothing to uncover."
In the DC comics lore, Abra Kadabra was first introduced in 1962 on The Flash #128. Originally from the 64th Century, Kadabra travels to the present day to become famous, but he finds himself always thwarted by The Flash. The character holds no actual magical powers, but he became an actual sorcerer when he made a deal with Green Lantern villain, Neron.
Dastmalchian, for his part is not new to the DCEU. He's also known for playing the villainous Dwight Pollard on "Gotham" season 3. His other acting credits include "Ant Man," "The Dark Knight," 'MacGyver," "The Belko Experiment" and "12 Monkeys."
On "The Flash," he will appear in episode 23 of Season 3, according to his IMDB page. Details as to how he figures into the current season's storyline are still under wraps. The airdate for his episode is also yet to be determined.
