Sacramento Kings point guard Ty Lawson is given a bench warrant to appear in Denver Court. The former Denver Nuggets player has failed three alcohol test after his probation for driving under influence in 2015.
Lawson was given bench warrant to appear for revocation hearing before Denver County Court on March 22 according to report from Denver Post. His hearing was conducted due to his failure to pass three alcohol tests, conducted on Sept. 27, Sept. 29 and Feb. 2.
The 29-year-old player was arrested for driving under influence in January 2015 in Denver. The police stopped him on Jan. 23 after speeding at 61 mph in a 35 mph zone on Park Avenue West in Denver, Colorado. The police officer took note of his drunken behavior and took him to the detention center.
Two months later in March 2015, the court sentenced him to one year probation, with 48 hours of community service and 52 hours of therapy. He must stay away from alcohol and marijuana during the probation period.
However, in July 2015, Lawson was again arrested in Los Angeles for similar case. The police pulled him over after he drove at the very high speed. He later failed to pass three alcohol tests and must attend the probation hearing in the next two weeks.
Meanwhile in his career, the 5'11" point guard signed with the Kings on August last year. He had played for Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers. According to CBS Sports, he will spend this season with Sacramento Kings in a minimum contract. He will become free agent by the time the 2016-17 regular season end.
In his 8 years of career in the NBA, he spent six years in Denver Nuggets. He averaged 14.3 points and 6.6 points during his stint with the Nuggets. Career-wise, he averages 13.1 points and 6.2 assists per game.
