JTBC handpicked Jang Jin, Park Ji Yoon, Kim Ji Hoon, Yang Se Hyung and Jung Eun Ji of Apink to join the official lineup of "Crime Scene 3" slated to start airing on April 28.
"Crime Scene" is a variety program where cast members imitate murder scenes to find the real culprit. The JTBC show started back in 2014 with a 10-episode run from May to July.
The program returned for its sophomore season a year later. Original cast members Hong Jin Ho and Park Ji Yoon returned in "Crime Scene 2" with Jang Jin, Jang Dong Min, and Hani.
According to Soompi, followers of the JTBC franchise can expect Park Ji Yoon's acting expertise in the newest season. As one of the original cast members, the singer has already mastered several deduction tactics during her stay with the program.
The upcoming "Crime Scene 3" was confirmed with a teaser trailer uploaded in March. Aside from that, the JTBC program even held a special launch event where participants were given the chance to win $1,000 just by guessing the cast members of the new season as per Allkpop.
When asked about the casting lineup of the new installment, "Crime Scene" producer emphasized the importance of providing something new for the viewers. "Rather than the season two members doing [season three] with us as is, we need to also show a new image," Yoon Hyun Joon said.
He continued, "I think that a portion of those members could work with us. However, as this is set to air early next year, nothing has been decided as of yet."
The "Crime Scene" producer, however, acknowledged the request of their followers to cast the same members for the third season.
Catch the return of "Crime Scene 3" this April 28 only on JTBC.
