Lee Joon Gi was the first to speak up after he and Jeon Hye Bin confirmed their relationship just recently.
Similarly, the "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actor also apologized after leaving tvN with no choice but to cancel the second part of his "My Ear's Candy" episode with Park Min Young.
In a lengthy message posted on Monday, April 10, Lee Joon Gi addressed these issues and acknowledged his fault for causing confusion among his fans as per Soompi.
"Since it was very foreign to me to feel another emotion towards a colleague that I met through a project, it took me a while to realize what my emotions were," he said, referring to his relationship with Jeon Hye Bin.
The actor continued, "She is a bright and warm person who understands a lot about me. Because we were being careful with the dating, I wasn't sure how to tell you."
The "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" star added he is regretful for having to keep the matter from his fans. Lee Joon Gi admitted he was planning to make his relationship with Jeon Hye Bin public sooner than later.
"Things didn't work out the way I wanted, so I'm very sorry. I'm sorry... and thank you so much for cheering me on and worrying for me," he wrote.
The 34-year-old Hallyu star also recognized his behavior on tvN's "My Ear's Candy" where he was paired with Park Min Young. Many were convinced of their onscreen chemistry after Lee Joon Gi showed his romantic side towards the actress.
Hence, his sudden admission of dating reports with Jeon Hye Bin broke the hearts of his fans especially those who are shipping the actor and Park Min Young.
According to Allkpop, tvN cancelled the second part of Lee Joon Gi and Park Min Young's "My Ear's Candy" episode after the actor admitted he is currently dating his "Gunman in Joseon" co-actor Jeon Hye Bin.
The network thought it was "inappropriate" to push through with the special episode following the actor's announcement. Lee Joon Gi, on the other hand, promised to be more cautious with his actions in the future.
"As for my behavior on the recent variety show appearance, I feel very responsible. I would like to apologize to those who have given me so much love and everyone involved," he said.
