Constance Wu as Rachel Chu
Wu was the first star to be confirmed to star in the movie adaptation of the novel "Crazy Rich Asians." Wu plays Rachel, an American-born Chinese economics professor, who travels to Singapore with her boyfriend Nick to attend the wedding of Nick's best friend. Little does Rachel know that Nick comes from a massively wealthy family. Rachel becomes the target of every single woman in Asia as they plan to bring her down and win Nick's heart.
Henry Golding as Nick Young
According to The Hollywood Reporter, newcomer Golding is playing Nick, Rachel's super hot and super wealthy boyfriend.
Michelle Yeoh as Eleanor Young
Yeoh plays Nick's controlling mother, Eleanor, who does not approve of Rachel.
Gemma Chan as Astrid Leong
Chan is portraying Astrid, Nick's cousin and the center of Singapore's high society buzz. In the books, she is nicknamed "The Goddess" who has it all-wealth, good family background, impeccable fashion sense, jaw-dropping beauty and an attractive ex-husband.
Chan is currently in AMC's "Humans." She previously appeared in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and will star in "Transformers: the Last Knight" later this year.
Sonoya Mizuno as Araminta Lee
Mizuno is on board the "Crazy Rich Asians" cast as Araminta, the fiancée is Nick's cousin, Colin, The Hollywood Reporter writes. She is the daughter of one of China's richest men and is regarded as Singapore's most renowned fashion icon. In the books, Araminta befriends Rachel. Mizuno was previously seen in "Ex Machina" and "La La Land."
Jon M. Chu is directing "Crazy Rich Asians" with Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and John Penotti producing. "Crazy Rich Asians" author Kevin Kwan is executive producing together with Ivanhoe chair Robert Friedland.
