Looks like BTS' winning streak isn't stopping any time soon. BTS was recently hailed the most viewed K-Pop group in YouTube history, having over 4 billion combined views on their videos.
According to Koreaboo, while PSY still holds the record for most viewed K-Pop artist on YouTube due to his global viral tune "Gangnam Style," BTS takes the cake in the group category with its 4 billion total viewer count.
The total count is a combination of views from music videos, fan-taken videos and views on the group's personal channel, BANGTANTV. BTS' music videos alone amassed an insane number of views. The "Dope" MV alone accounts for 379 million views, while "Fire" has 368 million views.
As for their short clips, titled "BTS Bombs," their dance practice video for "Spring Day" amassed 5 million views so far.
Meanwhile, BTS has also been making waves in international award shows, most recently at the Shorty Awards where they won in the Music Category. The said award-giving body recognizes singers, celebrities and other personalities for their social media presence and influence.
The seven-member group was nominated in the music category, alongside Drake, Ariana Grande, Twenty One Pilots, Britney Spears and more. The Shorty Awards took note of BTS' Instagram account, which is filled with carefully curated concept photos. Aside from Instagram, the Shorty Awards also factors in other social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, Vine and Twitter. Interestingly, Forbes named BTS as the most retweeted artist on Twitter.
"We want to share this honor with fans all around the world," BTS said in their acceptance speech, as reported by The Jakarta Post. BTS was the only South Korea act nominated in the 2017 Shorty Awards.
BTS recently embarked on their Asian tour called "2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour," which will continue until July.
