U-Kiss band member Eli has officially embraced fatherhood as an insider from the singer's camp revealed that his wife gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Tuesday, June 7, according to Soompi.
"The mother and child are both healthy. Eli is very happy," the source said.
Last year, Eli surprised his fans after announcing that he is not only expecting a child but is also a married man.
Eli and his girlfriend for five years secretly got married in June 2014 and announced in December 2015 that he is set to become a dad. "We are... expecting around May next year and I'm very happy with my little family," Eli said.
In a series of Tweets, the singer also apologized for keeping his relationship status a secret.
"You must all have been shocked. There have been many difficult times, but I've never once regretted my decision to join U-Kiss," he said.
"But still, because of my idol status, my family had a tough time," he explained. "Even when my wife fell pregnant, I couldn't even go to the hospital and I felt like an idiot."
The singer asked permission from fans to stay on the band and asked blessings for his new family.
Eli's wife is a former racing model who is 11 years older than him. The couple failed to have a formal wedding ceremony because of Eli's sensational status as a performer.
Meanwhile, U-Kiss announced on Monday, June 6 via their official Twitter account that they will be donating a portion of the proceeds from their latest album sales to support the Culture and Arts Education Division of AbleArt Center, which helps talented artists suffering from disabilities reach their dreams.
