Kim Nayoung, a contestant on the Mnet reality girl group survival show PRODUCE 101, will be the newest member of the first girl group ever created by Jellyfish Entertainment.
The 20-year-old singer is one of the three trainees under Jellyfish Entertainment. She appeared on the hit reality contest show and was chosen as the third member to join the agency's new girl group.
Kim Nayoung appeared on PRODUCE 101 along with Kang Mi-na and Kim Se-jeong. Although she was in the coveted A class, she was able to catch the attention of the judges when she took the role of the main vocalist during the battle section of the show. They performed KARA's Break It. Unfortunately, she was not able to make it to the finals.
The 11 girls who advanced to the finals debuted last May 4 as a new girl group called I.O.I.
Although Kim Nayoung finished in 14th place in PRODUCE 101 and was unable to join I.O.I., she starred in the boy band VIXX's music video for their track called Dynamite.
The funky music video features a veiled female, which Jellyfish Entertainment, who also formed VIXX, confirmed on April 20 is Kim Nayoung.
"Kim Na-young has proven herself a trainee of high potential, particularly when she appeared on the music video of 'Dynamite' by boy band VIXX," a rep from Jellyfish Entertainment said.
