Im Yoona will be modeling for a charity campaign called "Power to Go" together with other celebrities and volunteers, according to Chinese actor Chen Kun.
Im is a member of the popular K-pop group named Girls' Generation. She is soaring high with her popularity statistics in all records. Even if Google search trends show super-star Song Joong-ki of the "Descendant of the Sun" as the hottest online search, she surpassed him in popularity in China as she was ranked number 1 in the Chinese popularity graph Vlinkage, released by a Chinese entertainment data analysis and consulting company.
Im is the second non-Chinese model to be selected for the "Power to Go" campaign.
Kun launched "Power to Go" in 2010 as a fundraiser to call on top stars of the industry to raise donations for various charity projects.
Celebrities and volunteers will gather in remote villages for a week to raise funds that will reportedly be used for the promotion of children's welfare and their education in China.
Recently, Im has received much praises for her lead role as Zhao Yun in the 2016 Chinese television drama "God of War" on Hunan TV. She starred in the TV series alongside actors Lin Gengxin as general Zhao Zi Long and Kim Jeong-hoon as Gao Ze.
Im celebrated her 26th birthday with her band members recently. Girls' Generation have released some fun-filled pictures of the gala get-together dinner night on their social media accounts.
