Singaporean actor Andie Chen has received a precious birthday present that money can not buy this year--- a baby girl!
Chen’s wife, Singapore-based Taiwanese actress Kate Pang gave birth to their second child on his birthday on June 16.
On his Facebook account, Chen expressed his gratitude for the new blessing in their family as well as the safe delivery of their new child named Avery.
“Really happy birthday this year. Thank you everyone! Kate and Avery are fine! What an amazing birthday present,” posted Chen.
Baby Avery weighed 3.65 kg and measured 52cm long. She delivered the child normally at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, a private hospital in Singapore.
According to Chen, his wife experienced heavy bleeding and extreme soreness although she has a great tolerance for pain.
“She even bit my hand when she was giving birth and told me to go for a vasectomy,” Chen said in an interview.
Chen revealed that Kate was not yet due to give birth. However, because their baby is too big and she was already found to be 2 cm dilated in the past couple of weeks, their physician got worried that she might already be laboring “without actually feeling it.”
Netizens have warmly welcomed the birth of Avery and sent their congratulations to her parents. Chen also received birthday greetings.
The couple got married in 2013. Besides Avery, they have a son named Aden. He will be turning two at the end of June.
