Ji Chang-wook might return to action soon as he recently mentioned that he is seriously considering the lead role offered to him by tvN for the station's upcoming action-drama series, "K2."
Executives from tvN have spilled some information on the storyline of "K2." It will be an action romance about a law enforcer who is abandoned by his country.
The critically acclaimed drama writer Jang Hyeok-rin, whose accomplishments include "Yong Pal," is in charge for the script of "K2." Jang announced in an interview with Drama Beans that "K2" will most probably be the next show after "The Good Wife" drama as it aims to have the Friday and Saturday primetime slot for higher ratings.
tvN is reportedly eyeing Song Yoon-ah for the female lead in "K2." Song's representatives have revealed that the actress is very happy with the offer and is just checking her schedule before she confirms that she will play the role.
An insider has revealed more information about the upcoming action-drama series from tvN to K-Drama Stars. Chances are high that "K2" will be aired in the middle of September. The story will also revolve around the theme of using love for revenge. The film will be directed by PD Kwak Jung-hwan, whose credits include "Chuno" and "Neighborhood Hero."
"K2" director Kwak mentioned at a press conference that he is very positive that Ji Chang-wook and Song Yoon-ah will be the lead male and female characters respectively, as they are great actors.
