Many movie fans would easily agree that “The Conjuring 2” has been one of the most horrifying movies this year. What many of the viewers do not realize is that the filming of the movie took place in real-life haunted locations.
Since the goal of critically acclaimed horror director James Wan was to make the movie as authentic as the real events that took place during the Enfield Haunting, the actors were briefed about where the locations will be. Before the first shooting day, the brave cast of “The Conjuring 2” horror flick already knew that they could fall prey to terrifying events.
According to Yahoo Movies, Graham Morris, a photographer based in England, was asked by a local newspaper to cover the breaking story about a haunted house. What he did not expect was the gravity of the eerie situation that took place in the home of the Hodgson family.
Janet Hodgson, who was aged 11 in 1977 when the poltergeist activity occurred, was at the center of the paranormal activity. The spirit of an old man, the former owner of the house, kept on disturbing her. After so many attempts to be free from possessions, they were finally free from the paranormal activities in 1979, after two horrendous years of suffering for single mother Peggy Hodgson, and her four children.
Most of the events that the movie portrays is true, except for the demonic nun and the scene in the trailers of the crosses that turned upside down. Also, the Warrens were not too involved in the case of the Hodgson family. The demonologists were only there for about two days.
Well, the cinematic experience demands a flair of thrill and a good plot to keep the audience enthralled. As for Morris, the photographer who documented the Hodgson family’s dilemma for almost two years of his life, he was very pleased to see the graphics and other visuals of “The Conjuring 2.”
“Nothing in that movie scares me anymore. I have seen Janet Hodgson levitate a few times and took pictures of it,” said Morris in an interview with Movie News Guide.
