Descendants of the Sun actor Song Joong-ki thanked his fans globally for donating for Cambodian children while he was at a meet and greet event in Taipei, Taiwan this past weekend.
According to KPop Herald, around 4,000 fans were present at the event and a photo of Cambodian kids with letters that formed the words "Thank you" popped up on the screen behind him. "A friend of mine sent me the picture over the Internet while preparing for the meet-and-greet. That's how I realized it. I deeply appreciate it. I learn a lot from my fans," Song said.
A Facebook page called Human and Hope Association said that Song talked about their group at his meet and greet in Taiwan and that the actor encouraged his fans to check out their cause. The fan-driven project aims to offer ways for marginalized children to enjoy better education.
The donation was started by Soompi Song Song Couple and Songsongholic Korea. It will provide English, Khmer, preschool, living values as subjects as well as a library to Cambodian children.
Song Hye-kyo also took to Instagram on Sunday to say, "I appreciate fans that have beautiful minds. You make me happy. I am deeply honored and I will cherish this. I'm sending love to you."
Meanwhile, Song has said he would like to act again with Song Hye-kyo 30 years from now if the actress is okay with it. He said that Song Hye-kyo is one of the role models he has when it comes to acting since she is a great senior in the show business.
Aside from that, Song also talked about he dreams of being a member of the Korean national speed skating team before becoming an actor.
