"Attack on Titan" Season 2 is already confirmed, but no specific date of release has been revealed. Several reports say that the show will air after the conclusion of their other major project, "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress."
According to Christian Today, "Attack on Titan" Season 2, also known as "Shingeki no Kyojin," will be the last of the anime adaptation, although its manga counterpart will still continue. Given that, a lot of spoilers claim that the second season is far from a sequel since it will have its own plot. The writers altered several episodes in the new season of "Attack on Titan" and added new characters. They warn though that the introduction of new characters could mean farewell to the old ones.
Spoilers via Movie News Guide reveals that Armin will die during the first episode of "Attack on Titan" Season 2. It can be recalled that in the previous season, an unknown creature crawls inside Armin making him in danger of death; however, there is also a possibility that he will survive after being saved by a mysterious entity.
Other sources suggest that the possible death of the lead character is the reason for introducing new Titans, such as the Beast Titan in the first season. In the manga, the Beast Titan in human form is named Zeke and appears like an ape during his transformation.
Meanwhile, "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will also show how Bertholdt, Ymir and Reiner transform into Titans. This follows last season's storyline when Annie was revealed to be a Titan, hinting the possibility that there were others just like her.
"Attack on Titan" Season 2 will also be focusing more on the origins of the Titans, so the story arcs will dive deeper into its respective characters. Since the show faced a production delay, "Attack on Titan" Season 2 is now targeting for a second quarter release by 2017.
