"The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 is already slated to go in production stage on Aug. 10, and contract negotiations are yet to start, leaving fans speculating whether the popular show will continue its successful run.
The cast, however, is expected to renew their contracts soon, and everyone is optimistic that the negotiations will start with CBS before the production goes full swing, Movie News Guide reported. There are also reports suggesting that Jim Parsons, Jimmy Galecki and Kaley Cuoco may demand more than what they made last season, which is around $1 million per episode. This makes the trio a part of the highly coveted pay grade that used to be enjoyed by the cast of the popular TV series "Friends."
It comes as a bit of surprise that negotiations have not started yet, considering that "The Big Bang Theory" is one of the highest rated comedies in TV today. The TV series is a big hit worldwide and averaged around 20 million viewers, which puts the cast in a very strong position come negotiation time.
While "The Big Bang Theory" cast has expressed its willingness to continue with the series, CBS will still have the final say if it will continue with "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10.
Meanwhile, according to Parent Herald, the show's producer Steve Molaro optimistically declared that Season 10 will likely be followed by more episodes, but the focus is to make each episode strong. If all goes well with the negotiations, the show will premiere on Oct. 27 in CBS.
