Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's "Sultan" movie has been leaked on internet.
The sports drama, also starring actress Anushka Sharma in key role, was leaked online on Wednesday, hours before its scheduled release in Indian theaters. Confirming the full movie leak, Indian cyber crime experts said that the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed biopic was available on several websites for couple of hours. However, websites removed the movie links hours later.
The makers of the biopic did not take the leak seriously. No police complaint has been filed so far in this matter.
"If one tries proxy server of other countries 'Sultan' is out online. But if you try it here (in India), it is blocked," a cyber security told Press Trust of India. "If one goes to watch it online, a message flashes on websites that the content is removed as per Copyright Act."
The just released "Sultan" is doing massive business in India. It is running successfully on box office and it is likely to dominate Indian theaters in coming week. As per media reports, the movie earned more than 36 crore rupees on its opening day and became highest Bollywood opener of 2016.
"Sultan" is the third Bollywood movie hit by piracy syndicate in past few weeks. More recently Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer "Udta Punjab" and Rietesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani , Vivek Oberoi and Urvashi Rautela' upcoming adult comedy "Great Grand Masti" were leaked online. "Great Grand Masti," which was scheduled to release on July 22, was deleted immediately.
"Great Grand Masti has been definitely leaked, but no active links of Sultan's censor copy can be found online. However sources are saying that there has been a leak and that the movie was available for sometime but was pulled down immediately," another cyber security expert said, reported Deccan Chronicle.
