Chris Wood has joined the cast of "Supergirl" Season 2 as a series regular.
Wood, whose recent TV credits include "Containment" and "The Vampire Diaries," has been tapped to play a DC character and will first appear in the earlier part of "Supergirl" Season 2. Details about how he would be introduced into Kara's world are still being kept under wraps, TV Line reported.
The casting comes after the rumor leaked earlier this week that Oracle and Batwoman might make an appearance in "Supergirl" Season 2, which will mark as a huge event for DC fans should the showrunners claim that the leaked information is actually happening. For now, this remains to be just a wild theory.
Wood joins previously cast actors headed to "Supergirl" this fall, including Tyler Hoechlin ("Teen Wolf") as Superman, Lynda Carter ("Wonder Woman") as female POTUS, Ian Gomez ("Cougar Town") as Snapper Carr and Floriana Lima ("The Family") as Maggie Sawyer.
Moving forward, "Supergirl" will need to answer what happens next after Season 1's cliffhanger in the finale, where fans learned that someone else has landed on Earth. Subsequently, the identity of the mysterious character will be unveiled as well.
"Obviously it's our big cliffhanger of the season, so I'm not fully inclined to let everyone know who shot J.R.," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"It's an important character, and they'll play an important role in season 2."
While Kreisberg stayed mum about the identity of this new character, he did say that the revelation will make fans thrilled and will definitely shake things up in "Supergirl" Season 2.
"Supergirl" Season 2 premieres on Monday, Oct. 10 at 8PM on the CW.
