"Family Guy" Season 15 is said to be the last season of the franchise. Seth MacFarlane, creator of the series, hinted that he wanted to put the Griffins to rest and focus on new shows. However, rumors are circling that the reason why the show will not be renewed for another season is because Fox is planning to bring the show into the big screen.
Seth MacFarlene has expressed, numerous times, that he wants to put an end to the show and focus on other projects. In fact, the show has ended its run before but has continued to air because it remains to be one of the most popular TV series. MacFarlene has already taken a break from voicing his characters in "Family Guy" when he decided to direct films such as "A Million Ways to Die," "Ted," and its sequel. It might be true that "Family Guy" Season 15 will be the last, but from what has been happening, MacFarlene just keeps coming back like the Griffins.
But MacFarlene said he did not want to just let go of the Griffins in "The Family Guy" Season 15. Blasting News reported that the writer/producer/voice-actor wanted to turn the series into a musical film and after that, call it quits. The same source also reported that Fox approved of his decision with no further questions.
In terms of wanting to focus on new shows, Movie Pilot reported that MacFarlene was working on another live-action series with Fox. There are not many details about the show, only that it would be a sci-fi dramedy starring the creator himself. Could the news be an indication that longtime fans will be seeing the last of the Griffins in "Family Guy" Season 15?
