Marvel Studio's officially announced that Brie Larson will be playing the role of Carol Danvers a.k.a Captain Marvel. She will make a debut appearance in "The Avengers: Infinity War," to be followed by her first solo movie. Marvel Studio's head, Kevin Feige, said that they have set the bar high for choosing Larson.

Larson, who previously won an Oscar in February for her astounding performance in the film "Room," has joined the Marvel Universe and will embark in another challenging role as Captain Marvel. She recently tweeted to actor Chris Evans, a.k.a Captain America, that she is the captain now.

According to The Guardian, Marvel has not announced the director for "Captain Marvel"; however, they revealed that the script will be written by Nicole Perlman of "Guardians of the Galaxy" and Meg Lefauve of Disney's animated film "Inside Out." The producer will be none other than Feige, the head of Marvel studio's himself.

Feige said that the success of every Marvel film depended on good casting decisions. During an interview with Cinema Blend, he said that Marvel has set the bar high when they chose Larson to play the role of Captain Marvel, similar to when they casted Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.

Feige added that they wanted to ensure that they would be able to meet the expectations of their audiences. Larson is placed in a demanding position but the producers said that she had all the attributes they were looking for that fits the character. Feige further added that he was thankful that despite Larson being an academy award winner, she was still interested to sign a contract for the role.
