The Nvidia GTX Titan X will be released on Aug. 2. The newest graphics card will be powered by chip GP102, which is up to 60 percent faster than the company's previously released chip.
Nvidia's CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang unveiled the Nvidia GTX Titan X during a meeting of experts at Stanford University. He said that they wanted to bring supercomputing power into the GeForce channel so that everyone in academia will be benefited. The company even gave some graphics card to some lucky experts in the event.
Nvidia GTX Titan X reportedly has a huge advantage over its predecessors. The upcoming graphics card will have GP102 chip, which has been evaluated to be 60 percent faster than the predecessors.
The Nvidia GTX Titan X card boasts 12 billion transistors, 44 TOPS INT8, 12GB GDDR5 memory and a memory bandwidth of 480 GB/s. Its chip has 3,584 CUDA cores running at 15GHz, producing 11 teraflops of computing performance. Considering the card's specification, it is indeed one of the best video cards in the market, The Next Digit reported.
Nvidia GTX Titan X has heat generating chip; however, the heat generated will be dissipated because of its vapor chamber cooling technology. The cooling technology component is enclosed in a cast aluminum body with a black finish.
Performance comes at a cost as the Nvidia GTX Titan X is priced at $1,200. However, for an avid gamer that requires serious graphics card performance, the price is all worth it, PC Mag reported.
The Nvidia GTX Titan X graphics card will be initially released in North America and Europe, then in Asia. The card is available from selected system builders or through the Nvidia website.
